Last week I made panna cotta in the college training restaurant and I think Panna cotta is a great dessert which is so easy to make. With Christmas coming up this would make a quick and easy dessert if you don’t want to spend all your festive season in the kitchen!!! I know I’d rather spend my time enjoying the parties!
Ingredients
125ml milk
375ml double cream
1tsp vanilla bean paste
2 sheets of gelatine
35g sugar
Method
Soak the sheets of gelatine in cold water for around 10 minutes.
Bring the milk, sugar, vanilla bean paste and cream to the boil. Ensure that sugar has dissolved. Pass the mixture through a chinois into a bowl. Squeeze the water out of the gelatine and then mix with the cream mix until dissolved. Once dissolved pour the mixture into dariole moulds, ramekins or whatever you want to serve it in. Place in the fridge until set.
To give the dish some texture, you could make some honeycomb to give a bit of crunch. The recipe I used can be found here. I also topped the dish off with a little honey.
Now it’s time to get the bottles of fizz opened and enjoy the festive season! Cheers!
